Now I'm not going to get drawn into either camp here. Major sitting on a fence I'm afraid.

I love the S2000 - but I fancied a change
I am tempted by an M series car (a 3 not a 5) but the breed is the same - large amount of power and torque
I am tempted by an Elise - a toy for me, not a monster killer or anything but a go-kart with indicators

But Bada - you're sounding like you are out of your depth on this conversation I'm afraid.

All 3 have their strengths and weaknesses. But is one actually better than another, I don't think so, it just depends on what you want.

Horses, courses....hang on, last time I joined in a discussion like this I got in an argument

End of the day, someone else always has a faster car, and no amount of spec-waving changes that. Enjoy what you've got I say!

(will be nice to show my younger sister's boyfriend and his nova a thing or two though )

Of course I'm never going to win plaudits for my honesty on this subject given the forum, but I do stand by what I say regardless of my new purchase.

Neil, The Elise ticked the boxes, but I bought it out of curiosity more than anything else. All the praise the car gets on pistonheads, Top Gear and the like just made the car that bit more desirable to me.

Dexter, I'm not sure what you're trying to say, mate. I'm not sure if that's because you have the wit and written English skills of a retarded chimp or if you genuinely have nothing interesting to say.
