FWIW, a lot of people end up getting another S2000 sooner or later.

Is this new house purchase the result of moving in with your girlfriend?

An M3 like that one we saw at TGM certainly wouldn't be a bad thing

997's are also nice, but with a 911 I'd want a turbo and they are more like £40k. I know what you mean about houses, once I've bought mine I'm sure the home improvement bug will bite.

I just don't see it happening to be honest, it would be hard and expensive to find another one in the condition mine was in when I sold it. I feel like life is a bit too short to have the same car twice, although the S2000 does appear to be an exception considering how many people seem to be repeat owners on here.

Regarding the house purchase, I just want to get on the ladder and stop renting. Already live with my fiance at the place we rent.

I think about what to get next a lot too.

Also looking at something up to around £20k. I keep coming back to 997s/Caymans, I'd love to scratch the Porker itch. Similar to the M6 you need a fat warranty though as they seem to have a reputation of grenading themselves.

Lotus is a maybe. Elise 111R or Exige S. Not sure if the "zomg racecar" novelty would wear off pretty quick though. Might love it though and they hold value well so could be worth a shot.

Jaaaags, I'd like an XKR. Fuel consumption may sting a little compared to the S!

BMW Z4 - nice, if not a little flawed. Plus everyone knows a BMW Convertible makes you a massive tosser.

BMW M3/M5/M6 - all great cars until they f@#k up. Have known a couple of friends who went this route and massively regretted it.

New MX5 - I do like the looks, but its half the power of an S.

I am on my second S now, I'd like to 'move up' but I do struggle as to what to set my sights on next! The S2k has spoiled us with its balance of reliability, low TCO, and balance of power/driver involvement.

A new one will be a lot less than £20k!

When's the wedding? Those are jolly expensive, I hear, and if you then start a family...

Yeah that's true, I just feel like it would be a bit been there done that. I always liked the idea of supercharging one but couldn't justify it so maybe that's something that could tempt me back.

The wedding is in 2017 and already paid for

Not only powerful enough but they are very slippy aerodynamics wise. My 420 bhp+ Evo IX could not keep up with my mates 370 bhp 997 at any speed, especially over 60. I went out as a passenger in it and the torque surge is a lot more than you think for an NA motor!

Some say the turbo takes the enjoyment out of the way 911's drive.
