Default Nissan GTR.

...and remarkable it is, too.

I have hosted an MPEG4 video here (the AVI version is over 1GB and will have to wait till I get home). It's not meant to be a professional review but I thought it'd be fun to do it this way.

However, to sum it up:

1. Awesome
2. Massive
3. Acceleration is, as Clarkson put it, "Blistering".
4. Boot space is remarkably good
5. Rear seat passengers are probably better off without legs
6. Very agressive appearance (esp this black version)
7. Min 97 Ron fuel or warranty is void
8. Traction control off = warranty void unless you arrange this beforehand
9. Compared to an S2000? Don't be silly.
10. Compared to a Corvette/Ferrari/Lambo? See vid. Hard question to answer.

What a fabulous car. As you'll see in the video (which needs editing badly and it's very low quality hence the audio is a bit out of sync), I've got another toy to play with as well. Both cars arent' mine, but will be at the Thirlestane Castle event as posted in the Meets forum, for anyone interested.

If you have any specific photo requests of the GTR, please post them tonight and I'll see what I can do tomorrow.

Graham

Video (avi will be uploaded on Monday night). LINK

Big, but beautiful?

Just one screen of many, on the dash.

Loadsa space in the boot:

Nice trim, but some plastics were very poor, specifically the outer door handles.

Whilst driving the "other car", I got a lot more attention. Specifically from this lot. I met them in the pub later, funnily enough. So it works. Kinda....

Just remembered I'd not posted a pic of both cars in the video. Here's one at the all-too-frequent fuel stop

Yes, it's a little "comfy" and a bit plasticky at the same time. I suppose that what you get for

I still kind of regret cancelling my order, but it was for the best at the time...

There is an amusing review of the car on Pistonheads at the moment.

RE the interior, I thought it was pretty good. The big let down is the stereo as it looks like an afterthought. But for a Jap car it's fine.

The attention they get is unreal, from all different types of people young and old.

Some of the threads on the GTR forum are quite amusing - it's not uncommon for other drivers to do U turns to catch up and take pictures!

Some of the 600 bhp remap options must be unbelievable. It's exceptionally fast as it is!

Good grief - here's me sha**ed out with jet lag, and there's Roadkill thrashing around Scotland in two shiny black supercars after the same journey home

Entertaining review Graham - enjoyed watching it

It's an interesting comparison, and one that gets me wondering what the new cost of the Lamborghini would be at today's values compared to the Nissan.

I'd need to drive both before I could possibly pass comment on which I'd choose, if I had to, between the performance and overall competence of the GTR and the desirability of the the Countach as one of the all time classic exotics, but if the Countach is such a difficult (as opposed to challenging) thing to drive, I'd have to plump for the GTR in the garage and a Countach poster on the wall, despite what is likely to be a huge price differential in present value terms.

Video was good

The only minor gripe I have with it (apart from the stupid warranty) is the paddle shifts don't move with the wheel

They don't move? Damn that's dumb for us corner lovers

Still love these though, just not sure I'd buy one with my own moiney...
