But at the end of the day it just doesn't have enough power to compete. I may be missing the point, but i am not, and never have been a Honda fanboy. I judge cars on their merit and IMHO it's overpriced. The backend has never looked right and the interior is very dated.

If money was no object, I'd probably have one for my fantasy garage. But as something to work towards, I think there are probably better cars for the day to day sports car drive (dare I say it a Porsche), there are better cars for trackday fun, and there are certainly prettier cars and better value performance cars too. And that 80s styling isn't going to impress anyone.

You'd have to be a mega Honda fan boy to spend hard earned money on an NSX, IMO.

TBH, there are other earlier models on there that are much cheaper.

I'd be inclined to buy a 3.0 and fit the 6 speed box - must be one knocking around somwhere - and a new final drive.

YES YES YES!

Fantastic car. I will always remember the ride I had in an early '91 model - the engine makes the most beautiful noise... The car is so much more special than a common-as-muck M3 and such like...

The NSX is more desirable, more iconic, more exclusive and more reliable (I could go on...)

I am clearly biased / besotted / stupid, however if you have the patience and interest, here is an article written by Gordon Murray regarding his NSX experiences - I think it makes fascinating reading, but then I would for the aformentioned reasons!
