Default NSX...

I like to surf Piston Heads and play fantasy car purchasing

I often look at the NSX's, but today I wondered what the attraction of buying a newish one would be, given what else is available in the price bracket...

I'm a big NSX fan, and I love all it stands for, but would you take one over a 911 / CSL / M3 / RS4 / type thing (be honest)

Take this one, an absolute stunner.:

Yes.

It's about design purity and simplicity.

A true luxury tourer, not to be mentioned in the same breath as those Ripspeeded repmobiles!

I can understand someone thinking a Gayman is more modern/twendy but I'll take the cheaper, more reliable Honda with its advanced construction, thanks.

I have never been in one, apart from looking in Simon's, but i'd love to have a go in one.

Just for 40k i'd want it to be extremely rapid.

Jaozzy, I notice you have an 07 Boxter. How come you didn't go for an NSX then?

Would people REALLY fork out 40k for a newish one given the competitors? And I mean really. Think about it. I'm not sure as i've not tried one, but interested to see what people think.

I think the NSX has something special about it. Unlike a porker (waits for Nubend2000 to pipe up).
It won't win many drag races, but that's not the point. imho anyway.

It's very different from an S2000, except you can feel the suspension geometry is very similar.

It's torquey and refined and it feels very light for what it is. It's better described as a mid-engine Prelude, probably.

Yes

I was given a passenger ride round a circuit once, sounded awesome and seemed to handle very well - they have a lot of presence, and a je ne ce quoi about them.

Im tempted, if I go down the beater route this may well be my next car - Id be spending 20 ish though not 40!
