Passed first time although the examiner stopped me halfway around the test course and warned me that we weren't making best speed, apparantly i was being too cautious, I broke the speed limit a few times on the way back to the centre and passed, my instructor was surprised.

Second time lucky for me.

First time on all licenses.

Clean sheet on the car on my 17th birthday, clean sheet on my bike (I did sit it in the Cook Islands though and the test was a joke), one minor on C, clean sheet on C+E, clean sheets on G and H too.

I just seem to be able to channel an "ideal test", you can't drive like that all the time though. I wouldn't even say I'm all that good a driver, I am just good at passing tests.

No, I couldn't afford to go on and complete my private pilot's licence. You need a minimum of 40 hours to qualify and the RAF paid for 30 on a scholarship, but at the time I couldn't afford the remainder.

I never got around to going back and doing it before it all the ground school qualifications lapsed so, in practice, I'd have to start from scratch again today.
