To save bother I already know the physics of the S are far superior to those of the 911.

The S has the advantage so I can type this already knowing the result

I really know very little about how/why a car drives as it does and therefore should probably not comment at all. However, I am very lucky to have driven a wide variety of performance cars in the past when I worked with Gerald Ronson (HR Owen) and am also very grateful to my brother in law who hands me the keys of which ever vehicle he owns whenever I go to visit. I have driven his M3 in the past and more recently his Carerra 4s. I drove this on the lovely roads from Ayr to Dunure before I had experienced driving an S2000 but had obviously passengered with MQ on a number of occasions.

Driving the Porsche was my first experience of tiptronic and I loved the drive. The car is comfortable, very powerful and refined but once I had driven an S2000 I knew I had to have one. Really I should have gone for a four seater considering I have two children but felt no passion for any of the other cars I test drove. I feel that the S has taught me a lot. I don

Quote button's bust. Love mobile technology.

Moggy; it sounded like a comment from someone who knows little about cars because that's exactly what it was. Awesome observational skills.

I don't need to know a lot about it to know if I like driving it or not. Whether you agree with or value my opinion is irrelevant.

I just posted facts and opinions based on my brief test drive.

Quite.

So do you think the S2000 is a better car?

What's the surface, dry or wet?

Bumpy B-road where your front end squirms around under braking (because the suspension is too hard)? Or a smooth bit of tarmac?

What are the speedsinvolved? 60-0, 120-60, 30-0?

Is it a one-stopper or many stops?
Bloody pedant

No. Just that I like driving it more, based on yesterdays test drive.

Is that how my post comes across? That I'm claiming the S is a better car? I was just observing some of the things that I prefer on the S over the Porsche.

The S has its fair share of problems too. I just didn't write about them, as they're posted frequently enough in the main forum.

I don't think that's how it came across, Gritty; but then again I've long been stoned as an infidel who also actually prefers an S2000 to a 911 for my purposes.

Nothing wrong with being stoned...

Seriously though,
he probably has the upgrade 'S' brakes;
whereas the vanilla Carrera would have the bog standard ones?
That dent has now been fixed so all good. My brakes are all standard, no mods. The cross drilled discs, pads and tyres are all under 8 weeks old though and it does stop well.
