Apparently Glasgow and Edinburgh each have 25 red light cameras of which 6 are active at any one time:

Oh and it was actually Bath St at Pitt St I was thinking of. Map here

I drive through this junction all the time and I didn't realise this camera was there!

I used to think that there should be red light cameras on every set of traffic lights, as it's a bit of a pet hate of mine.

Howevermy opinion quickly changed when I read the story about the guy who got fined moving out of the way for an ambulance - an absolute disgrace.
I still think lights should have cameras on them, but there's got to be "logic" and "common sense" applied by "the law" in order to make things work.

I got flashed by a red light camera a while ago. It's a very odd junction where the lights are easily obscured, in this case by a right turning lorry. I wasn't going fast, as traffic turning across me was also obscured but I had seen a scooter heading up behind me way too fast. Then I saw the camera flash.

Anyway, the NIP arrived a few weeks later, the only thing I could do was put who was driving.
This was followed by a letter saying "We have evidence that you where driving when.....". Well done Hercule!! The evidence is me saying, "Yep, it was me".

Never heard any more about it.

I did a similar thing today - but it was for an unmarked Police car.

I don't think there is a camera there, and I certainly didn't see a flash
