S2K Alternative
Coming back down the A1 yesterday, I overtook a nice little red car. The driver decided to tag along for the ride for a while.
He kept up quite easily, but could gain nothing on the S2K. He was definitely quicker out of 2nd gear roundabouts, until the VTEC woke up.
He seemed less committed to fast, sweeping bends, which did surprise me a little.
He was a good, considerate driver, slowing to allow me back into the fast lane, when we came across slower moving traffic, whic frequently meant we has to back off.
It was a great experience though!
The Red car?
No - it was a Nissan Skyline Type V

if it has not been modified it will be about 270bhp - so with the extra weight of the car and transmission loss cos of 4WD, I would expect the S to be an equal competitor in acceleration runs - however it will have much more torque lower down in the rpm's from the twin turbo's hence your experience pre-vtec.
type V is the highest spec end of the Skylines, I think it even has driver adjustable rear wing?
