I'm thinking about getting the Mrs an S4 Avant as a family car as we have our first nipper due in August.

My best pal runs an old saloon version. Had it a few years now and its been very reliable.
Body wise some corrosion around the boot lifter is normal and no big deal.
mechanically hes had some boost issues due to split hoses/vacuum pipes which are easily sorted.

Easy to remap and tune by fitting RS4 bits and even turbos.
Nice car, still no rattles, unispiring drive, no street presence.
