I think you'll find that it's usually a Barratt equivalent 'executive home' in an 'exclusive estate' and not that sort of 'exclusive estate'
It's the North; the 'exclusive' Darras Hall estate (or 'Darras Hell' if pronounced with the correct local accent) is awash with Range Rovers.
Grew up there, long before the football trash moved in - it was always the Dobsons / Barrats etc who threw the shiny stuff around. I'd bet half of these footballing twunts don't realise there is a convicted paedophile living within 200 yards of the Primary School ... but then they probably don't send their brats there

I've only been back a handful of times since and the place is looking pretty run down and the roads, they are in a shocking state ... not unlike this breed of new 'mansions' that seem to be springing up.

Always amazed me why someone would want to pay £x million for a house 2 feet away from their neighbours. Some of those Darras Hell houses are comical in their supposed grandeur.

There was this one guy with many Minis, Smarts and a Black Ferrari Mondial on his drive too. Pure Darras Hall he was - I think he's moved now

I know that bloke; he works as a double for George Clooney.

Is it Hoares you are referring to?

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...700k-lair.html

It's was alleged Maxine Carr was holed-up (at the tax payer's expense) on the estate. She might still be there...

If you look on Moor lane, i think it's the 2nd house down on the right ( Number 11) , past Sandringham Way as you head towards Runnymede Road.

God - even the road names make the Mitsubishis Dignity & Grandeur sound unpretentious.

Back on topic

Coming back to Naarfck today from Thruxton I took the long route back from the Barton Mills 5-ways on the A11, past RAF Lakenheath, to avoid the roadworks on the A11 up past Elveden - such a lovely evening and also to take in one of my 'benchmark' stretches of road that I *always* drive in manual on the M3. Tonight being a bit tired I left it in DCT (auto) but still did it at 80% and kept level with a car half a mile in front of me: the auto lights on the M3 let people see me coming and pace themselves, or move over, as they wish. Drew up closer to him as we hit Watton and the 30 limit - a cop car parked by the side of the road

It was one of these beasts

Back OT indeed!

Never seen a rozzer in a RR though! Lots of those pseudo motorway enforcement things though.

I'm over the moon with the Range Rover

Ferried the family to the race today in comfort and silence, loads of race gear in the back, sandwiches in the fridge, and the TV for when I needed a break from it all.

The Doris managed 38 mpg in it, which I duly got down to 32
