World of corporate BMW prices. Once a vehicle gets off the OEM warranty scare bandwagon, reality sets in.

Meanwhile people pay silly money in case the Vanos goes tits

High used prices = high new = instant brand cachet.

Go and have a look at lotus for high use prices. You can pay more than rrp for 10yo models

I saw a frozen grey one in the dealer when I did my first test drive and someone had tried to polish or clean it, it looked horrible.

It's nice to look at but maintaining one must be difficult.

Indeed, a nightmare I should think.

But for some reason the red (but not the white, grey or blue frozen ones I understand) is a matte vinyl wrap. Mine was removed by the first owner which is a bonus. I just had a parking gouge (rear panel and side skirt) repaired for less than the insurance excess 'no problem'

Lotii appreciate but beemers fall off a cliff quickly once the BMW warranty ends, due to relentless development obsolescence and the high prices of 'approved' repair. Then follows some years of fun and games e.g. Razzell's big red meaty one. As with the S2000, the engine is a jewel (though I don't think has problems like the late-model S engines.)

These M3 Performance 30 'run out' jobbies were £75k new list
