Busy today. Off with skills and starting to cut away the rot. It's just the very edge of both arches. Inners are fine. EG Civic fits so I'll cut away the all of the new stuff except for the lip and the flat bit around the arch. Tigerseal that on then fill the inside down to the new inner lip and smooth the outer so the new panel join is hidden.

Drums will be done when the new wheels go on and i've finished throwing stick shit around the arches,

Welding *sigh* i'd like to but the cost just not justify it. The plan is to take the dremel and cut the panel below just around the line where it goes from flat to curved all the way around and then tigerseal that to the same place on mine. Once in place i can P38/P40 the inner arch to meet it and then do the same on the outside so that it's graded into place - should match up well enough.

It's more than it's a pleasant way to kill a bit of time as opposed to 'lets fix it proper so it lasts years'. The reality is that the seals and stuff will only last 2 years longer at best before they become unusable and at that point it's junk. So if the glue lets go in 18 months - WGAF.

If at that point someone else wants to spank a grand on doing the work then good luck to them.

Too good to bodge. Thats the state of behind the bumper. I'll get the new metal welded in but deal with the finishing here. That's the bulk of the cost saved.

looks a lot better than my S2 did when i took the bumper off Unc

i should imagine it wont be horrendously expensive to get the tin welded in if you do the prep.. dunno really

it looks great back there

Yup. Maybe 100 quid a side for the raw metalwork. 8 hours of post weld cleanup and paint I can do here including flattening welds etc. Just seems a shame to do a shit job when the rest is not.
Even the main paint I can freshen up with time and I've plenty of that. So this might be a light reatore / save for a nice usable runner.
