does the kit come with all the wiring? they use a lot of current at startup as i understand it then use less energy than halogen

pretty funky but looks a fairly big job?

They are usually plug 'n play.

They work like an old fluorescent light (sort of) in that they need about 20kV to fire them and then they run on almost nothing.

It's only a big job if you want to install RHD projector units into your existing housing - it gets a bit mastic-ky..very sticky.

I quite enjoyed messing around with lights on Civics and Preludes...NSX has HID kit on its original projectors.

Yeah wiring comes as a kit - there is a seperate relay harness that comes direct off the battery, one of the original H4 car leads works as the signal generator for the kit. I've done this before, admittedly a while ago but in itself it's time consuming not complicated - at least not if you know how to do it. This kit is good as it includes the doughnut gasket that sits between reflector and H1 projector and then there is the metal H4 adapter plate that fits the back of the headlight reflector and a large nut that compresses it all into place. You can't fail on alignment as the H4 mount deals with that. H1 lamps are narrow fit so go through that into the H1 Projector without issue.

Lights are easy split with a hairdryer, the challenge is balancing heat with gentle levering pressure to split them without cracking them. I refuse to use an oven in case something deforms.

I have a DeWalt heat gun with various nozzles you can borrow, Pat.

Works well on a low-medium temperature setting.

Important to get a good re-seal!

Cleaned out the channels and bought new Butyl rubber Nick Been there / done that with reusing the old stuff, it's best to just replace it and then you get a watertight seal.

So thats the wiring checked and lights aligned. Beam pattern is good. Both projectors almost perfectly level so twisted them perfectly level and nipped up the locking nuts.
