TomTom Home allows you to use your PC to plan routes - but its useless as you have to have your unit plugged in and its just an emulator - so you see the same screen, but on your PC. That was a missed opportunity I reckon.

One thing I will say about TT and other nav products (I've been using TT5 on my Dell Axim for the past year) is be prepared to be utterly useless when you forget to take it with you, or the battery runs out or whatever
Before TT I used to be able to get to Leith from more or less anywhere in Edinburgh. One day without it after a year or relying on it and I was scuppered
Ditto "popping off" the M6 to find somewhere to take a photo of the view in the Lake District - within 10 minutes I had NO clue which way was back to the motorway
(Mind you, on the same weekend I also managed to describe a massive S walking to the top of Leith Walk from the Shore, at least doubling the distance. My companion was not amused
)
There seems to be quite a few on the forum now who have purchased the TT1
.
I picked mine up today and its currently stuck to the windscreen of the S on a huge swinging arm, which is not overly pretty.:freak2
Has anybody come up with any alternative methods of mouting the unit?
I'm not too keen on mounting it on the air vent but at the moment this is the only other solution I can think of.
cheers Andy

Have a look at my custom solution and why I think all the official tomtom mounts are a total POS here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...&hl=tomtom&st=0
I don't often drive to the unknown so I've not bought a satnav yet, but I was concerned that it would not update quickly when I took detours. However, I went out last weekend out with my friend who is an emergency response doctor and who was bought the TT1 on my suggestion for his birthday. We responded to a call several miles away and despite him deciding to take a different route, it kept up well, regardless as to the speeds we were doing along the country lanes (siren and blue flashing light blaring
)
)
Can anyone compare the speed camera POI funcitonality as compared to a dedidcated unit, such as my Origin B2? What sort of warning do you get? Simply a flag that the speed camera is X metres away, or any further details, such as speed limit etc?
