I thought it was hilarious though when Clarkson panicked, braked hard and nearly ran over those ducks crossing the road.

It actually showed that his on screen persona is merely an act and that he's probably a very decent bloke.

Seems like somebody thinks it's funny to knowingly mow down a bunch of ducklings in the road.

Been thinking about the ducklings and have watched the footage again.
I think it was funny because everything on TG is usually so contrived that the ducklings episode seemed to be completely random and fortuitous for the purposes of the piece. I was entertained by the simplicity and aptness of it.
Sadly roadkill sometimes happens but I don't think drivers revel in it. I'm sure that we all try to avoid harming living things. Convinced that nobody would mow down a waddle of ducklings on purpose.

In May we were driving down a fairly empty A11 past Snetterton. The car in front swerved. Moments later so did we. A mother duck and eight or so tiny ducklings were crossing our carriageway. All in very tight formation. We looked back and they made it safely.
So why did the chicken cross the road
