Take it to court and throw yourself on the mercy of the mags. Be utterly apologetic and contrite. Hold your hand up, admit responsibility (don't try and fob it off on a change in policy of the insurance company) and be really REALLY sorry.

You didn't intend anything malicious, you have insurance, you made an assumption that was wrong and apologise wholeheartedly.

Damage control now, chap. A lot of public school teachers and the like do JP and Mag stuff on the side and really go for the personal responsbility, "learn from your mistake" kind of attitude.

Best of luck

Well there's a lesson to be learned somewhere in there.
As they say, assumption is the mother of all ****up's

I'm sure as hell the boards response would have been somewhat different if he'd bumped into an S2ker without any insurance

True, but...

What is so snide about many weasel disorganisations in this ****ry is that they sneak these things in through the back door & then go "ignorance of the law is no excuse" in that childish way.

Insurance companies, IR Baboon, Wanks; all the really cynical ones do it.

You try it & see how many customers stay.

Just come clean and say that you didn't realise your fully comp policy had this cover removed. It's an honest mistake. It's not like you were knowingly driving without an insurance policy at all.

I can't imagine them throwing the book at you.
