not really queue jumping

of course not

the power of delusion is really quite staggering sometimes

Whilst that is not dangerous, it's completely retarded. You might be alright, but you are significantly contributing to the problem.

It's why the queue in the left hand lane is so big

If drivers physically cannot turn left, because of people going round the roundabout, then of course the traffic will build up!!!

You may see it as a 'right', but that is just to justify the stupidity of your actions Dixon

If drivers stuck to the correct lane, then the queue would never get as big.

We can't police this idiotic behaviour, or change the layout of the roads...we just have to put up with the morons on the roads

There is a roundabout like this near me, and it grips my sh1t to see the tools in the RH lane, 98% of whom are turning left after a quick trip round.
I come from a country that you have to fight for your lane and use your brain to drive on the road as if you queue up, you could be sitting there for a few hours and no one will let you move.

would you like a medal or an insult?

Lets not get it too personal eh

I have to agree with Loftust though, it clearly just adds to the inability for those of us in the left lane to be able to get onto the roundabout in the first place, thereby exacerbating the problem. Personally I just think its plain bad manners, along with the riding up the outside lane as far as you can before a lane drop when you can clearly see traffic is queuing (but thats a rant for another thread).

Putting aside the morality of doing these things, anyone know if you can get done for DWCA for it ?

I don't care if it's an offence or not

it's typical of the twattish selfish behaviour exhibited by a high percentage of drivers on the roads nowadays =- all of which greatly contributes to congestion and frustration

"I'm just using an empty bit of road"
"I'm entitled to go round the roundabout"

etc etc

Forget fines, a bit of wanton vandalism would be far more satisfying when the car is parked up

and don't get me going on people making genuine mistakes as a way of justifying this kind of behaviour

I've 'followed' (in that I've ended up in the same place as some of these twats) and it's apparent they know the local roads very well

I love the one about 'if people would just let me merge in turn'

that seems to involve screaming past slow moving traffic at twice their speed and then barging in at the last possible minute before taking out the cones

a slightly different definition of merging to mine

First thing is we pay lots of dosh for that loverly tarmac and we should use it all, but in the correct manner.

I deal world:-

Left hand lane to turn left , right hand lane to turn right, either to go straight on. Unless there are road markings to advise otherwise. Multiple lanes are usually marked as to the preferred course to take.

But BIG BUT, always assume to worse of you fellow motorist, either as a result of cock ups ( yes even S2000 drivers ) or silliness or stupidness, drive defensively.

I think that sort of follows the HC and IAM

Tin hat and flack jacket on down behind parapit, i am sure the NAvy will start shelling soon

I wonder how long it will be before the right lane ends up as congested as the left with everyone behaving like that?

It'll probably end up similar to the 5-lane section of the M25 mentioned above...

This is one of those situations when we need to see the road layout to really understand what's going on. I would never get in the right hand lane and go left, just in case someone is in the left lane and wants to go straight on. But I have to ask why the left hand lane is queued up when that traffic is going onto another dual carriageway? Why are people not turning left and using both lanes? Is there another junction that prevents people wanting to use both lanes after they've made that first left turn?

Rarely does the opportunity arise, but I've done what Dixon's done, but only when people are being stupid and not using both lanes, which causes a tail back which needn't be there.

I see this one everyday. People are almost scared to use both lanes, especially if they might have to merge at the end. They'd rather sit in a slow moving queue and leave the right hand lane clear. So I'll happily use that lane with one or two other brave souls and merge when I have too. I won't force my way in as I understand how merging should work, and you need to always be careful when going past a queue of stationary or slow moving vehicles. At the end of the day we all want to get where we are going, and I don't see myself anymore important than anyone else, but I don't see the point of sitting in a queue when there is a perfectly decent bit of empty road next to it.

Ok I am sorry if I offended you so much from my disgusting anti social behaviour, I shouldn't even allow to drive on the road.

I come from a country that you have to fight for your lane and use your brain to drive on the road as if you queue up, you could be sitting there for a few hours and no one will let you move.

As others have said your behaviour is boorish.

BTW I'm fascinated to know which country you come from.

Assuming it's not the UK you should remember the adage - when in Rome do as the Romans do.

Just because they behave like chavs over there doesn't mean that you have to behave like one here.
