Default Undertaking - More accepted ?

More and more often I am finding myself undertaking people on the motorways these days. *
I have kinda given up being concerned by it, and it doesn't look like many other frequent M-Way users are bothered either, it's much more common all round.

Mainly because it seems that people still haven't learned the proper use of the lanes, and in fact the problem seems to be getting worse.

I'm betting it won't be long before they simply say, officially, that you can overtake on either side.

*
Not whilst excessively speeding I hasten to add.
Maybe upto 80, but I don't tend to drive faster than that any more.

I do it too.

See, I feel much better already for confessing.

I'm too impatient, so if people don't move over then I undertake.

Circumstances dependant

I sell them a pup & they THEN move over into the slow lane more times than I've had hot thumbs on one foot.

I dunno if they're simply too brain-dead to know if they're sitting in the thing for a shit or a haircut, or if it's a deliberate attempt to slow one down. Never assume malice when stupidity is equally plausible.

I don't actually care; so long as they're outta my way.

But I've noticed a REAL deterioration in attention overt the last few weeks; whether is parents driven suicidal because they have to look after their own sprogs for a change, or if the recession has made them depressed, I dunno.

But the morons are on the increase.

Yeah
I always give people fair chance to move, and I'll only do it if the OTHER lane to the left is empty. etc.
(I.e. I've got somewhere to go if they decide to try and cut me off, even if it's the hard shoulder)

If I've got time and space to safely pass them on the inside, then they had time to move over.

I no longer give it a second thought if it's obvious that they're intent on staying in the wrong lane.

[standsup]My name is Jamie and I undertake[/sitsdownagain]

I've had enough of middle lane morons. I carfully cruise past on the inside lane and look over menacingly at them. You see more and more people now cutting middle lane morons up as they go from the outside lane to the inside lane, in and effort to get the message across to these lazy buggers.

I'd prefer that more was done by the DfT about poor lane use than making undertaking acceptable.
I'd also like HGVs to stay in lane one during peak hours too, but that's another story.

traffic reduces generally during school hollidays. However the quality also goes down, as people not used to roads are driving. So there seems to be a higher percentage of accidents. one such accident causing my hours commute yesterday to take 1 hour 45!

To find out how brain dead and ignorant mid lane sitters are I did a test on the M25 a few weeks ago.
There was a Ctiroen Picasso or something in the middle lane driven by a lady and maybe some kids in the back. She wouldn't move over after sitting behind her for a bit, so I overtook and then sat in the middle lane myself. I then slowed down a little so that she would have to overtake. I timed it quite well as traffic was overtaking her so she couldn't go around me. She then started flashing her headlights furiously at me even though she does the same thing every day
