traffic reduces generally during school hollidays. However the quality also goes down, as people not used to roads are driving.
So do the people who normally drive stop, and people who don't normally drive start?

I'm confused

Or do you mean that they are driving on roads they are unfamiliar with as opposed to their normal commute route?

I agree with the less traffic though

Definately!

The best thing is when you try flashing from behind to try and get them to move over and when you give up and undertake they flash back

People seem to think they can drive in any lane as long as they are doing the 'speed limit'.

I'm just back from malta (crazy drivers) - they dont have fast and slow lanes.... they just have a race track with they call the road

I'd also like HGVs to stay in lane one during peak hours too, but that's another story.
I've always undertaken when its safe to do so and the person in the right hand lane clearly has no intention of moving to the left. Interestingly many do once I've gone past them on the left. It seems to wake them from their day dream.
I think mobile phones have a lot to answer for too as people are so distracted they don't even realise the left hand lane is clear to move into and has been for the last 3 miles!
Either that or they are so busy chatting to their passenger...how do I know? because they keep looking at the passenger as they speak!!
I've driven in the USA, quite a lot, where it is legal to overtake on either side on a multi lane highway and it doesn't cause any additional problems. There people can choose the lane they want to travel in an stick to it. If you come upon a slower moving vehicle you move into which ever adjacent lane is free and pass!

As for HGV's keeping to lane one thats a whole separate thread to itself! Again this is not such an issue in the USA where HGV's are not governed to 55MPH and keep up with the rest of the traffic and not create a rolling road block!

It gets all the more difficult not to undertake when there are 4 + lanes (parts of M25). Are you undertaking, if overtaking someone on lane 1 when someone in lane 3 is going slower than you???? One being in lane 2......

If you see what I mean

I went about 25 miles on the inside lane at 80 ish whilst all the other traffic queued behind each other in the middle and outside lanes the other week.

Fecking lemmings.

I think the dandelion heads come out for a drive when the sprogs are in Torremelinos. It's the only reason why the few remaining cars are so badly driven at present.

Hyper's slightly adrift; it's the fact you're no longer allowed to bawl anyone out for being a far cup loser, which is why the UK is full of slovenly bastards.

The slightest driving error in Germany is rebuked with flashing lights and horns. Consequently, standards vill be maintained.

I have always been an undertaker,

If there hogging the outside lane, ill pull up behind, drop a flash and indicate right, If they don't move i undertake when safe.

If there hogging the middle lane, i try to make a point, but going to the inside lane, dropping a flash in there mirror, then going middle outside, overtake, middle, inside. Normally they get the message and move over.

I like this " hog the hoggers " idea.

Im gonna try sitting in the middle lane and slowing down once i find one

But i only really M/way in rush hour.

You see more and more people now cutting middle lane morons up as they go from the outside lane to the inside lane, in and effort to get the message across to these lazy buggers.
I tend to do this. Stay in the left hand lane until I am drawing close to the middle lane hogger.

Then safely, using indicators, move to the middle lane, then indicate to the overtaking lane before indicating to move back over to the left hand lane again - always in controlled fashion moving from one lane to the next rather than swerving 'Smokey and the Bandit Style' from Lane 1 to 3 and then back again.

Sometimes the MLM's get the message but most of the time I find they're completely oblivious!
