Waving....
So*, since I've had the S, I've not seen that many others on the road and probably only 3 or 4 of them have acknowledged in some way or waved.
When I had the Elise, every other Lotus regardless of type, the drivers (and passengers) always waved.
When I had my 2CV many moons ago, we'd always exchange cheery waves.
What other marques exhibit this sense of camaraderie and wave?
I can't imagine for a minute Porsche drivers do or any of the higher end manufacturers.
I think Mini (BMW ones) tried to encourage this sense of "family" in their owners but having never had one, did they manage it?
* Chucked that in for the benefit of dreamer.

I used to have a 2CV and not only did we wave but also waved using the car by steering quickly from side to side. Scared the hell out of other drivers as they thought we were about to tip over
I think waving between S drivers has probably had it's day. I can understand supercar drivers acknowledging each other, but it does seem a rather desperate attempt to gain recognition if you've got anything less.

For some owners & I suspect mainly the ladies ( Suzybee accepted ) waving to a stranger just because you have a similar car is deeply uncool and has worrying overtones of Anorakasia.
Imagine if you are a pushy ambitious young thing eager to make the boardroom and owning the increasingly costly trappings of success to signpost your way, you sure as heck don't want to be confused with those who meet in pubs and talk cars.
VW owners seemed to have started the trend, and when the MX-5 was not so common we all flashed each other.

Majority of bikers will still give you a nod.
I would be very surprised if supercar owners did. Actually no, I can see ferrari owners doing it as it's more of an enthusiast marque than simply just a "Look how much money I have" car.
I remember my mate had a Morris Minor and they did. And thinking about it, an ex girlfriend who had a Dolly sprint did too but these were a fair few years ago. Is it simply just dieing out altogether?
