What next...
I think Nick is alluding to the fact that the S2000 isn't as strong as some think... lots are blowing up and the 09 has in inherent problem. But to it's credit it does get a hard life, and a lot of the owners have questionable servicing habits.
Back OT though, i'd look at the Boxster Spyder if you don't need practical.

2. Boxster good car but running costs must be a fair bit higher to s2k given Porsche servicing costs.
Incidentally I have moved to a Mazda6 MPS due to us having a baby - its a great car but it just isn't an S and I am having major withdrawal symptoms! I think the S is the only car I'll ever REALLY like (that I can afford of course)! I'd have an MY11 GTR at the drop of a hat if i had the cash!....
Having sold my S2000 the next car i'm intending on going for is the Boxster. Boring to some yes, but having owned them before they're a known quantity, they're a great car and the 2.9 engine appears to have ironed out a lot of the niggles that made me give up Boxster ownership in the first place.
Saving head firmly on (until something else catches my eye....)

I did the 5.0 is an epic car and getting cheap.
It's very capable but on the clinical side for me - hence the Aston.
I also looked at turboing a Boxster S again very capable but too "perfect".
I looked at SLK63's, 997 Turbos, GTR's and allsorts
OP you MUST define exactly what you want from it before narrowing the list.
Pie n Chips got me to see it's not about the stats on the interweb, its about how you "feel" driving it in the real world.
