Nah, XKR is a great car, I would love one of them! I am 24 and have a XJ8 for motorway runs and to catch up on V8 goodness. The running costs are horrendous though, £1200 for a set of tyres...

A dear old friend, a gentleman of a certain age, turned up in it. He used to change his clothes three times a day when we went on growers' trips and hold hands with Mr Q when crossing the road.
It is a syrup friendly convertible - allegedly. Somehow not the thing for an ex S2000 owner I think?
I prefer the older one, the one that looked more like the E-Type it was based on before it had to conform with new EU Regs, this one:-

But yes, it is no S, but not many cars are as pointed and give a decent drivers feel like a S as most people don't want that. I would test drive one, but yeh, I agree it is tricky to find a replacement for the S if you want something that will drive very similar with more power.
I am getting a Westfield. Although admittedly, I am not selling the S either so the Westfield will compliment the S.

Why on earth would you prefer an overbodied 1970s XJ-S/XJ40 mashup to a lightweight, purpose-built aluminium-bodied GT roadster?
Go drive yer Westie; it'll learn yer about lightweight & transient reponsiveness!
its about how you "feel" driving it in the real world.
Which is why I ended up getting a 911 Carrera 2. In the real world its exciting at any speed, feels solid, quick and special and I've wanted one for years. 22mpg overall and does 36mpg on a pootle with Mrs Shipley when we go to the coast for lunch.
Not that I give a toss about mpg but I'm surprised how reasonable it is to own.
Dealers are high quality too.

I think they look better! More purposeful and less obese than the new ones.
But yeh, I currently have my eye on a Westie with a XE 2ltr red top on Jenveys, should do the job. What is transient responsiveness?

As roight, buy.
Is Transexual a commercial version of Metrosexual?
On my recent track day I drove 3 cars back to back in quick succession.
My Westfield, A Golf Mk5 with 310bhp and an Evo IV RS with uprated suspension.
Want to know the difference? Drive your S2000 and then get into a Transit van (although it has to be said that a transit van is suprisingly good in terms of feel). High seating position, muted response, a bit wallowy, steering wheel not out of place in 'Convoy'?
A lot of people move on from the S2000 and hark on about their new car's brilliance. Don't get me wrong, I love my Westfield as it's completely barmy. Crap at most things, brilliant at one
However, it also made me realise just how good the S2000 is as an all rounder. It's such a nice car to drive
The only reason you'd want to get rid is because the insurance costs are quite ludicrous, as is the road tax (on newer models).
If I had to suggest something, i'd say Porsche Boxster S (987). Lacks the S2000's frenetic character, but is a genuinely nice to drive car.
