'96 Ford Cobra
Had a pretty cool run in with a 1996 Cobra Friday night. My fiance' (Jen) and I were coming back from a night out with our friends. We were coming off of 40West onto US1 towards Cary. When all of the sudden I see a Mustang flying up right behind us and tailgate us until we merged onto US1. It was sooo obvious that he wanted to have some fun. He pulls up next to us and looks us over and then pulls in front of us. We get on Cary pkwy and we both slow down to about 15 mph. I have the S in second and we both step on it. I pulled about a half car length ahead of him before I shut her down. He pulled into a parking lot and so I decided to follow him. I pull up next to the guy (probably about 19 or so) and we start to chat. He says, "so what mods do you have under the hood?" I tell him it's bone stock. "Pretty quick car!" he said. I asked him what year his cobra was. After about a minute or so we wish each other a good night and head our separate ways. Jen was so impressed with how nice the kid was and the respect that each of us had for each others cars. She was thinking he was going to start talking crap about the race or the S. It's really good to run into those kinds of car people and be able to have a friendly encounter!!!
Any one here have had good encounters?
* I know this is supposed to go in Street Encounters, but I would much prefer to share it with you guys.

On Sunday I raced a BMW 325i on Cary Pkwy from a stop light. I started a medium acceleration from the light and then I heard his engine kick in so I figured he wanted to race so I gunned it and I kept about a car length on him until we were going about 85 and came up to the next light. I gave him a wave at the next light but he didn't even look over. When I race people I don't take it too seriously and don't mind stopping and chatting with the person or giving them a wave.

Sounds like an encounter I had this morning with a big 'ole RedNeck Chevy pickup! Only thing is, had we stopped, he would have been complaining of the stab wound I gave him with a phillips screwdriver in the neck! Complete freakin' moron!
Okay, I'm over that whole thing now.
