Always Use Jack Stands
It always surprises me when I hear something like this.
Jack stands will save your life.
HOUSTON - A man died after a call fell on top of him on Thursday, KPRC Local 2 reported. Harris County sheriff's deputies said Hilton Simmons was working on the car in his driveway on Plain River near Maple Hill Drive at about 9 p.m.
Neighbors said they became concerned when they noticed that the car had been running for a long time. They went to check on Simmons, 68, and found him under the car.
Investigators said the man was installing a part on the car and the car apparently slipped off the jack.

Jack stands FTW. Whenever I go under the car for anything, I always have at least one, plus my Harbour Freight floor jack as a backup.
So sorry to hear about this.

At least the neighbors checked on him...poor guy... I actually lifted my car the other day to polish the exhaust...and I made sure to put jack stands..."Justin Case." Good reminder Lee, thanks!
