Regardless, if and when you have the opportunity to register, you should, in order to get the full experience. Since registration is closed (as of mid-March), I wouldn't go to the extent of saying not to come at all. If you show up without registering, by no means will we alienate you and make you feel unwelcomed. You just have to understand that a lot of hard work and planning go into this each and every year. It wouldn't be fair for those who have paid and registered, if someone who didn't register got to enjoy the same event in it's entirety.

Ken, what's the official registered number for this year's event?

I've attended the Dragon events before and posted this before registration closed, but ultimately, I couldn't commit to going this time. Hopefully I'll make the fall event!

There are 175 people (118 cars, 57 passengers, dads, girlfriends, husbands, wives and others). Looking forward to another great Dragon event (number 13 for the Spring event but number 1 with a new name).

Very well put. Never been to a Dragon event but I've organized smaller meets and drives in Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas before and I know it ain't easy or cheap. I can't even imagine the amount of time, energy, effort and money it takes to organize an event of this magnitude.

We started working on RtD2013 in August 2012. That's not to say that it was being worked on every day, but there are a fair number of things that have to be accomplished first (design logos, get sponsors for door prizes, make arrangements with Fontana, organize drives, find drive leaders, create the website, and on and on) before there can even be a meet. When everything finally comes together, it's great to see the tremendous response from the community. That response makes it worthwhile. Oh, and getting rich off of this? Umm, yeah. So far everything will come out roughly even (so much for my palatial villa on the French Riviera ).
