I tried vice grips, but the problem is how close the bolt was to the driveshaft. To give some perspective, this bolt head is only 1/2 inch in diameter.

Now, notice that the clearance between the bolt head and the driveshaft is less than 1/4th of an inch. By the time you put vice grips on enough of the bolt to get a decent grip, the pliers are so close to the driveshaft that you cannot turn them much. Plus, it's so much more fun to throw sparks out into the driveway at night and make the neighbors nervous!

And, yes, there are some very cool mods in the works. Speaking of mods, you still have that CF hood for sale?

^ ^ ^ Yes Bryan, the hood is still for sale. Amazing......I've had 3 different people back out of showing up on what I'd otherwise consider "committed" interest. Oh well, stuff happens I guess .

Just a reminder...its OEM CF...no washer squirter holes...no hoodpins. $250.

I've had the car back on the ground for a little over a week now, and it runs great. I love the gears, but they are noisy. The noise has gone down somewhat in the last 200 miles or so, but they are still noticably louder than stock under acceleration. Nothing an exhaust won't hide though!

I'll be at the Dragon this weekend. I have about 800 miles on the new gears and will change the fluid tomorrow night. On the highway, with the top down, the road noise covers up most of the the whine, but with the top up its is pretty loud. It only makes noise under acceleration/partial acceleration, though. IMO, it's well worth the noise -- hell, I'm just going to add an Invidia and cover it up!
