Well, After five months of ownership the 'maint req' light started blinking.
After last weekend's 950 mile FC practice run the light is on all the time.

So, I dropped the U-boat for its first ever oil change 7390 miles.

I am also getting a noise in the soft top mechanism checked and the
brake fluid replaced with racing blue.... can you say 'COME ON DBALL!!!"??

P.S. In all this time I have only had to put 1/4 of a qt of oil.. the stick showed the oil level half way to the low point yesterday after I got back from FC practice run.

With such little oil being burned I'd be worried that something is wrong! High rev engines are designed to consume oil. Could be the oil bolt thing.

Better make an apointment with the dealer before its too late!.

Well, I did not get the car back today. Since i did not make an appointment they said they may not get all the things done today.

I hope I get it back early tomorrow since I start doing part time work on Wed and tomorrow is the only day I have free to put on the paint sealant before DBall. OK I could do it in two half days (Wed/TH) but I rather do it in one go...

Otherwise I will be showing up with a fairly dirty S at DBall... I can't bear the thought!

Don't sweat having a dirty car. After 8 hours of driving mine is a totally different color.

We'll have water, buckets, soap, wash mits etc. at the Jameson Inn.

I just did my first oil change as well a couple weeks ago. That was at 5,500 mi. and then a little after I hit 6,000 mi the maint required light started to blink as well. Did they just forget to reset it when they did the oil change? Or is there something else I need to do at 7,500? Any advice? Thanks.

There is a 7,500 mile service, but it's basically just an oil change. If you just had one, you can reset the maintenance light yourself...check out the Library forum for specifics.

I got the car back today around 3 pm. They could not reproduce the noise on the top so I tried to show them myself and what do you know?? NO NOISE (for 10 miles).... then when I went home......$$%#@@ NOISE!!!

I did not clean it today.. too many last minute things added to my 'honey do' list. On the bright side, I got to buy 'best on thin metal' blades for the jigsaw... I LOVE BUYING TOOLS /TOOL ACCESSORIES!!!

I'll clean the car the next couple of afternoons. I've had it for five months and have not put the sealant on. It really needs it.

Well, as it worked out I will be putting paint sealant on the front of the car tomorrow morning before leaving. Not enough time to do the whole car... shucks.

Will do the rest next week after i get back.
