Default head work turbo 2001 s

okay guys bear with me cuz im a little uneducated on some of this stuff!

okay i am runnin the inline pro kit with precision 62/65re turbo and all the goodies! Ya at inline pro said i will easily get 400 with modest tune! okay i know i need to do some head work and i already bout the inline 3mm hg. okay one of my friends who has turbo civic(a modest 400hp) said i mite as well look into retainer springs, arp studs, and cams! i want to know if this is a good route for my power goals and wat else mite i need? also i would like to know if you have to mate up cams and the springs and wat not cuz i have heard that you need to! and on that note wat are good total set ups that people are running? i did a little research and found the Brian Cower cams and retainers and springs! which ive heard are good! and last question if i got all these things and watever else is it just pull the head and bolt on is there any boring or polishing that needs to be done cuz i dont want to have to send it out! i have a pretty decent budget so i just would like opinions! oh and i would have a pro installing this! and i know he does Perfect work!

thanks
james

well...

It all depends.

At very least you'll want to upgrade the retainers to AP2. I'd do that regardless. As for cams. you'll find that not many companys make cams which actually make more power than stock.

The S2000 has an excellent flowing head and excellently matched cams. So upgrading the cams usually ends up in a loss of power unless you have them custom made, but for a mod 400whp setup it probably isnt necessary.

Headwork shouldnt be done unless its done by an S2000 specific shop. In no way should you have it done by someone who does great heads for other cars.

if your looking to make good power there are other ways to do it more efficently. Such as going with a tubular manifold, But then you'd be shying away from the inlinepro kit.

in that case upgrade to AP2 retainers. Stick with OEM cams, etc.
