Default Installer for harddog rollbar

Hey All,

Just picked up my first s2000 here a few months back. It's been a long time coming and I am loving it so far. I bought this car because I wanted to start getting on the track, I signed up for HPDE w/ NASA and realized that at 5'10" I might not be allowed on track with the stock roll hoops. The bar itself isn't too bad but I am afraid that it's going to get expensive with the install. Anyone have any recommended shops I can call around to get some quotes? I am in RTP near Durham/Raleigh.

also I want to get a valve adjustment done if anyone has any recommendations for that.

Thanks!

If you're mechanically inclined it's not a difficult install...unless you want to put every piece of interior back in.

I'm sure I could but it would probably take me a long time and I am not confident enough to cut into the car with out experienced supervision.

Helpful tip: i used a die grinder and one of those high-frequency multi-tools. The multi-tool was a lot easier to control in that confined space. Just start with a new "metal" blade and be prepared to toss it when the job is done.

I had two friends help with mine, mostly to stand around and drink beer.

I'm really good at that

I'd recommend Performance Chassis in Cary. They live a breath this stuff, and it's the only place I'd let do an alignment on my car. Give them a call.

Are you good with leaving the interior pieces out or are you wanting them to be modified to fit back in?

I would like to keep the interior pieces in as I am going to get a bar that will work with the softtop. I guess the extent the interior pieces need to be modified depends on the setup of the bar I get. I was going to keep it pretty basic as my goal for now is to get what I need in place to enjoy the car on both the street and the track (though the car isn't my DD), then after a few years and a good amount of HPDE's under my belt I can decide if I want to go further and prep the car for more advanced stuff.

Thanks for the recommendation, i'll give them a call. I definitely wouldn't mind prepping the car for the install maybe that will save me some money.

Why not try Bethania Garage themselves? You'd save on shipping costs and who knows how to install it better than the people that make it? Worth a shot.

Worth calling but when I bought mine in 2013 their labor quote alone was north of $1k.

I think if you'd be willing to take all the interior pieces and take the soft top out with the frame the labor charge would be a lot less. Taking the soft top with the frame out is actually pretty simple. Took me and a buddy about 20 minutes with a beer break in between.
