Manic Depression
Manic:
-At the Pinehurst MED I talked to some of you about how pitted my windshield was. Driving home directly into the big winter sun made it very difficult to see. Three weeks ago a van tossed a stone onto the windshield and put a 3/4" star break in the center of the windshield. My insurance policy includes repair/replacement with a small deductable. I requested replacement with an OEM windshield and was granted that request after some Q&A. My day was lifted significantly when I drove home with a brand new OEM windshield, having only paid $50 for the job to be done.
Depression:
-I picked up my daughter from her after school activity, and on the way home she discovered the start of a small hole in my top. It's two small slits, about 1/8" and 1/16" side by side just behind the passenger's head and just behind the curved plastic piece attached to the frame. It doesn't leak, but you can see daylight through it. After doing some searching and reading in the forums, I see that wear and holes in this location is pretty common. For now I patched it on the inside with a small piece of gaffer's tape with the corners rounded off. My saving grace may be the extended warranty that came with the car when I bought it. I paid the $50 transfer fee and got a confirmation in the mail last week. It expires in October.

I gotta get my windsheild replaced...damn thing looks like this:

As for the wear holes...it's one of those suck-ass things about our S2000s. The upside is the aftermarket soft tops are pretty sharp looking...I like 'em more than the OEM offering, actually.
I doubt your extended warranty would cover the top...since it's a wearable item...but hey, I'm no adjuster.
Best of luck...keep us posted.
