Default The official S2k's to CMP thread.

everyone. Last Saturday at the monthly Raleigh meet/Hardtopgyu event a group of us were talking about our track experiences, car setups and future track events. So, I want to start a thread in which we can basically check-in and try to coordinate any possible meet dates at a track, either for a day or a weekend. Since some or most of us don't have a rollbar, here are the links to the CMP/Turn 1 open track/HPDE days.
Turn 1 track days @ CMP
Turn 1 track events

Please keep the posts on topic.

Pedro

*** Possible personal schedule ***

March 7-8 @ CMP with Turn 1
March 16 @ CMP with Turn 1
April 23 @ CMP with Turn 1
May 1-3 @ CMP with NASA-SE
June 27-28 @ Rockingham with NC SCCA
August 1-2 @ CMP with Turn 1
September 12-13 @ Rockingham with NC SCCA
November 6-8 @ CMP with NASA-SE

As I discussed with Krshultz at length at the meet, the roll bar specifications need to be clear before I commit. Basically the only thing holding back the cusco/safety 21 4/5 point bar right now is wall thickness. If someone could verify the wall thickness in person (drilling an inspection hole, you do it regardless if you track, it is part of the tech process), and if the wall thickness is up to par, then the cusco/s21 should get a green light.

Either way, I hope to get a roll bar in the relatively near future, and I would be absolutely down for doing an S2000 track day.

ckim715 - According to their website , S2k's are permitted bacause they have factory roll bars.

Rex Leo - Solo & Test-n-Tune = $225. Drivers Ed = $275 for a day, $450 for two day events. Track day fees

The Cusco bars already have a hole on the passenger's side of the main arch, about 6 inches from the base. It has a yellow circle around the hole. If that helps anyone. I would love to track the Evo, since thats why I bought it.

+1. When I went last November and December s2000's were OK stock.

Sorry I missed the meet and that discussion but here is what I have planned:

CMP - March 7th and 8th
Watkins Glenn - TBD in May (Hopefully...waiting on the 2009 schedule to be released).
Rockingham - June 27th and 28th

I'd also like to hit Roebling once this year and will likely want to get back to CMP a couple more times as well.

On the calendar. I would probably go even if I don't run. in hopes that the weekend will not get booked with something else.

Rockingham in June sounds good too. Who is running that event?
