Road Atlanta - March 14-15 with NASA

Also, for those that want or need rollbars, look here http://www.bethania-garage.com/s2000.htm. These may not be as pretty as the cusco rollbar, but they are completely functional, and will pass NASA tech for tracks that require more than oem.

Thank you VERY VERY much for that link! That is exactly what I want. No gutting of the interior!

I still think that bar requires you to cut some trim around the factory roll bar. If not, I may sell my cusco cage and get this.

I'm pretty sure any rollbar requires some cutting. And now that I think about it, I may have some of those interior pieces in my garage, in case anybody decided to keep their current pieces pristine.

I called today to confirm that you DO HAVE TO CUT the interior pieces around the stock roll hoops a bit to make it work. Or you can take it all out. For them to install it keeping all the interior in (which requires cutting) they would need the car for several days and charge $1,500 in labor costs plus the cost of the roll bar!!

Why not do the install yourself?

As far as I know, the basic S2(main hoop with no diag/harness bars) will pass tech. This is for HPDE purposes, or TT, but none of these(cusco included) will pass tech for a race car.

That's because it's a tedious, time-consuming process to trim each panel by hand and test fit until it looks good. I did it when I installed their very first prototype bar in my blue car, and *I* wouldn't install another one for less than a grand.

For anyone interested, S2000's are welcome at any NASA events. Their weekends include everything from HPDE 1-4(some with instructors) to W2W racing. Prices range from roughly $300 to $400 for the weekend, Fridays are an additional $200. To join NASA costs $45(I think) and that gets you a National Membership and a subscription to Grassroots Motorsports Magazine.

As far as needing a rollbar, that is completely track dependent. VIR, Summit Point, Barber Motorsports Park require aftermarket rollover protection on all convertibles. Some even require arm-restraints. Road Atlanta, CMP, Roebling Road will accept an S2000 with oem hoops.

With all of that said, it's always best to check and double-check before signing up at ANY track. There were some very upset people last year at BMP, due to a last minute change, on Sat morning(after people had driven/towed from far away).

NASA-SE schedule
March 13-15 RA(Road Atlanta) - also having a car show this weekend
May 1-3 CMP(Carolina Motorsports Park)
May 30-31 BMP(Barber Motorsports Park)
June 12-13 RA
July 3 LMS(Lowes Motor Speedway)
August 7-9 RA
October 17-19 AMP(Atlanta Motorsports Park)
November 6-8 CMP
December 4-6 RA

NASA-MA
February 20-22 VIR(Virginia International Raceway)
March 27-29 VIR
April 25-26 SP(Summit Point)
June 20-21 SP
July 24-26 VIR
August 22-23 SP
October 9-11 VIR
November 7-8 SP

I plan to be at all the SE dates, and all of the VIR dates. Spectators are allowed for a small fee at most tracks. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or just want to talk about getting on track.
