That is very hard to believe! Anything that would hit the diff housing hard enough to crack it would feel like jackhammer hit your car. I just don't buy it. More likely, one of the bearing caps broke loose and the diff grenaded -- breaking the housing from the inside.

Well, it was running low, low, low to the ground. Maybe a speed bump or something.

sounds like the whole carrier. id just get a used one. the kaaz is nice, but i dont think you need it. they arent noisy, you just have to do figure 8s for about 30 minutes. its really a lot of fun until you start to hurl. so, have some friends help you. the one big thing is that its kinda clunky. but, they are viturally unbreakable.

when i read your post, i thought you did a bad shift and shot a spider gear through the casing or something. i agree with the jackhammer quote. i would really look at getting this warrantied. 4200 bucks is also insane. i dont know what they are new, but its a 2 hour install on a lift and air tools at the very most.

My Diff also has some issues reciently. At around 3k, a whining noise was coming from the rear end, kind of like a bad install of an amp noise. Seeing my car is out of the 3 year warranty and under the mileage they actually covered it in full after a week of bitching. They were going to charge me in full b/c of my mods on my car voiding my certified extended warranty. After calling customer service, they agreed to 50/50 charge. But after a few more phone calls, they covered it 100% w/o warranty. Im a happy camper

I since took my old diff apart, I'm not familiar with diff's so I don't know the name of the parts, but the about 6-7 teeth were broken off of each gear, so I'm thinking a tooth broke off and lead to all the damage.
