Default Scary Noise

I was driving out this AM for a run to the store. Moving along about 40 MPH when WAM. Loud bang from the underside and accompanied by a loud exaust sound.

i pulled over and checked under the car. Mufflers in place, pipes intact. Started limping home and heard banging again. I stopped toi check. Now I realized when i did not see the problem before. First time I looked, the car was on the shoulder and what i thought was a blade of grass was the O2 sensor in the test pipe simulator hanging down.

I will be putting the cat back on today.

FWIW if you plan to install a test pipe, use locktite on the thread of the simulator.

I'll be putting the Invidia TP up for sale soon.

every time i put my T1R test pipe on i dump loads of white-bluesh smoke and the exhaust smells of burning oil... with the cat back on there's no smell or smoke and the only evidence that it uses oil is when the exhaust tips turn black

It sure does sound better with the test pipe on though

The Invidia has a 2 piece O2 sensor simulator. I think that no matter how much you torque the sim in the pipe, it is going to work its way out in time. If I was going to reinstall it, I would have a shop spot weld the sim to the pipe.
The O2 sensor did not come out of the sim. The sim came out of the pipe.

I see now. Okay, so now if/when I get one I'll just weld it. Good thing you posted it on here. I prob would have experienced the same thing if I would have ignored it.
