[QUOTE=RichV,Feb 1 2010, 11:09 AM]I had a 1986 Mazda B2000 pick up truck in a real sexy light beige color for my first "car".

My first car was a 1990 Toyota Corolla and I put big bass speakers in it and peeled the tires at every stoplight and did pretty much all the crap that I watch 16yr olds do around me now and sigh to myself "Damn kids." (See mlc's above post to the tune of "Now that I'm getting older...")

BUT... a Supercharged S2000 as a first car can either go two ways. If this kid has been brought up with cars (go-kart racing, wrenching on his own stuff) and has a respect for it, I say more power to him. God bless him and if he's worked hard he deserves it.

More often than not its the other way around and he's going to hurt himself or others in/with it and I just hope that isnt the case.

Good luck on the new car hunt OP. Sorry to see you go!

J

My first car was a 1988 Jeep Cherokee. It was old but fun bc it had 4wd. Least to say I was never allowed to have a 4wd vehicle after that. Going mudding and then coming home and it running all over the drive way did not make my parents happy.

I learned how to drive a manual car when me and my ex bf went to Columbia to visit friends and he went to jail for street racing. When we got pulled over some friends were behind us and we convinced the cop, who was really nice, to let them drive the car with me in it to the detention center. Well when we got there the cop assured me that there were vending machines and restrooms inside... Not lol. So when I figured out that the doors were locked and I had to pee like a race horse I learned real quick how to drive his car (rsx type-s, flashed w/ header, intake, exhaust). Once I figured it out I was pretty proud of myself so I put putted around town in his car testing it out while he sat in jail haha.

I love telling that story.

As for the young guy getting a sp s.. I'm going to pull for the under dog and say congrats to him! I'm sure his dad knew what he was doing and he wouldn't put his son in a car like that w/o confidence in him.

LOL @ Land Rover...reminds me of my VW Passat...that thing was an absolute FAIL.

And on your Land Cruiser, I agree...Anna's uncle has one as a daily driver and it's phenomenal. Great vehicle.

Raul, you don't even know how much I hated that Range Rover. I sold it after owning it for 2 months.
