I understand what he is saying. Reason being because of the Elan, MGB, ect... Light, nimble, small, and not overpowering. I don't agree 100% but I understand his reasoning. The Mazda's emphasis isn't on power.. never has been for a reason. Mazda engineers could have dumped a big powerful engine into the Mazda at any time, but intentionally chose not to because they never wanted the car to be about power.. just balance, oneness, and poise; 3 great characteristics of a classic roadster.
The S2000 brings those plus power... power being a characteristic not necessarily indigenous to true roadsters but more inline with true sports cars (roadsters not included).
