I have USAA, full coverage, w/ $500 deductible and it runs about $900 for 6 months.
On a side note, when I received the property taxes for the car it was over $1k, but I noticed the appraisal of the car was the MSRP, not what I actually paid. I faxed over a copy of the bill for the car, and showed them that purchase price was about $3k under MSRP. They adjusted it and it saved me maybe $100. Every little bit helps. BTW, this is in richland county.
I did hear on the radio this AM that SC is considering doing away with property taxes altogether on homes and autos. The trade-off is that the sales tax would go from 5 to 7%. I almost think it would be worth it not to have to pay property tax every year for the duration of the vehicle's life.
