idk dude...I've seen several users on the board having misfires until they upgraded to iridium (as demonstrated by the OP). I'm just saying...if you're going to put plugs in it, imho, they should be irdium.

side note: Torque them to 18 lbs, the old specs are no joy (@ 13lbs).
I was hoping to get verification that the gap was in fact off (post #2).

Got an obd reader and checked it out, had multiple misfires, cylinder 1, 3, 4, and the multiple misfire code p1399. Like anybody else im freaking out thinking the coil packs are about to blow, pulled all the plugs and noticed 3 of them were burned to a crisp. I was really concerned because the plugs are rated for 70,000 miles. All in All i picked up a set of NGK Laser Iridium for $36 bucks and gapped them myself, .044. So please do check your plugs before installation.

If you bought plugs 5 months ago, got a CEL days ago, and have "burnt" plugs, you have a problem that may not be the plugs.

I still have the old plugs, I'll post up the gap thursdayish.. Don't get off work until then. They weren't burnt like a melted state, just covered in white junk and the tips didn't look too good.

^oh man..
sorry it took so long to get back on guys/gals. i checked the gap on the old plugs and they are to honda spec, .044, ive been doing some research on the www's and i may need new coilpacks for the 3 cylinders that caused the misfires. im not a mechanic but i do enjoy working on cars and always fix it myself. money is an issue with me so that'd prob be why i always fix it myself/with friends..
the detail on the tips of the sparkplugs were just a white color w/ a normal wear on the upper portion. i found out its because the engine is burning oil, which i know the S that's normal with the rod oil squirters. this is the first time ive ever dealt with misfires in any vehicle so i really dont know too much about this problem.. my plan is to order new coil packs for all 4 cylinders, compression test before and after.. is there anything else i should check that i can manage myself, in other words not tear apart the entire engine?... thanks!

the car seemed to be running pretty good this summer. It seems odd that 3 coil packs would all go bad at the same time. What PN plugs are you useing and are you still having issues?

I haven't had any issues since I put new plugs in a week or so ago. No cel or anything. If anything it feels even better.
