Default Tech Day in Wilmington

When: OCTOBER 29, 9:00 AM - until (until we find where the left over parts go )

Where: The BAD Cave

What: ......

We're gonna be adjusting valves, replacing oil jet bolts, and possibly replacing valve springs, retainers and keepers. Yea, I've volunteered to be the Ginue Pig but only because the world-famous, shade tree mechanic HOTRODS2000 is gonna help.

The Bad Cave refrigerator is fully stocked, the Helms manual is dog-eared and I've got plenty of alternative transportation for runs to the Honda dealership and Auto Zone (it never fails). You're welcome to drop by just to watch, change fluids, or tackle any project you'd like some help with.

If you're gonna engage in a project that requires parts, order them NOW.

If you want to do a valve adjustment, remember that the engine must be cool before starting. You're welcome to come in the night before and stay with me. We've got plenty of room. Breakfast is hyper-continental.

PM me if you need accomodations and/or directions to the Bad Cave.

See you on the 29th!

I hope like heck we're not still trying to get my car back together by then.

We'll probably finish up around mid-afternoon. It depends on who comes and what they want to do.

I might do this! I owe my brother a trip, so I could tell him I'm actually coming to visit, but in fact, i would be coming to work on the S!

What all would I need to get for a valve adjustment?

Depending on the age of your car, you may want to replace the valve cover gasket. We'll have al the tools you'll need.

The best price on the gasket is from hardtopguy.com

I'll PM directions.

Glad I caught this post Herr Baddness!

I've been away from S2ki (long story...but after deleting a virus....I've had Java problems on my computer)...pencil/BOLD me in, I should be able to make it.

Great! Are you gonna adjust your valves or watch? You really don't need any parts to do the adjustment. Replacing the valve cover gasket is optional.

I read somewhere before, but I forgot......how soon/often should one adjust their valves.

My car only has 14K miles. The first 10K of which were from the previous owner and I'm sure the car was lightly driven to how I've driven it.

Just wanna know since I'm contemplating coming down.....
