Default Trying to find the right equipment

Hey guys, Im planning on starting to do mods to my s2k in the next few months. I figure an intake, exhaust and VTec controller would be a good start. I am gonna start with the intake first since i have the top of my stock intake off and i dont want it to get bogged down by the heat in the summer. I was wondering which ones produce the most HP and best sound without coughing up more than $300 or so. So far I really like the PRM intake and the price seems reasonable but Ive not heard much about what it produces. AEM V2 and Injen are on my list as well but ive seen somewhere on here that AEM V2 is pretty good but havent seen Injen mentioned. It will be a daily driver so I dont want to have to worry about hydrolock so thats a concern as well. THanks

I have an Injen, and I like it. Unless you drive in a pond of water and floor the accelerater you shouldn't have to worry about hydrolock. I have driving in downpours many times with the fake ducts cut out and have never had any trouble.

Heres a good intake.

Well maybe you cant go all out with the Comptech supercharger but I hear the Comptech intake is pretty good.

Well actually I had the kit. I have already gone through a supercharged and turbocharged S2k and now its back to stock and Im about to sell it. I guess Im addicted to power. . I would recommend a supercharger over a turbo on the S2k unless you are able to spend around $10k for turbo/standalone EMS/tuning. I hope you enjoy your S2k. Its an awesome car to own and certainly gets attention.

"where did you get that steelplate that is under the Injen pipe."

http://www.ricks2k.com/products/rmbillet.php

It's $130, I've been wanting one but haven't been able to find the cash for one yet.

I recommend the knock-off cai's on ebay, can't go wrong for $40, the filter is not the greatest but that can easily be switched to a better one.

Thanks for the input guys. I have narrowed my list down to a few now. I am partial to turbos myself maybe due to the fact i had a Mr2 Turbo, I just like the top end push they give. I am just going to build the engine up for a turbo application as I go I suppose. Eventually getting the EMS and other necessities beforehand along the way. Definately will be in the distant future.

as for intake goes. i would go with Comptech CAI.
it has some hp gain and no hydrolock...but i think it is the most expensive compare to other..
ricks2k.com got the best price i think.
