You have to get certain scores in both the ASVAB and the Flight Aptitude test. Then you have to pass a physical and a board screening where a panel interviews you. From there you go to Alabama for a Pre-flight physical. Then on to boot camp and Warrant Officer Training. Once done with that straight into flight school. The whole screeening process is done BEFORE you enlist....that was my first question...lol.

Me too actually. Flying has always been my love and the biggest regret I have always had was not joining the ROTC for Air Force right out of high school.

I envy you Luke. I wanted to fly in the Navy, but didn't have a degree. I settled for being aircrew, even though I flew very little. I'm looking at getting my private Pilot license, but it's just not the same as the fast movers the military flies. Same with the bigger planes. It's too late for me to make a career out of it, but I'd like to fly just the same.

Some things to consider before joining the Army:

- Would you ever be able to handle the lack of ing that flight training would afford you?

- Is green a flattering color on you?

- Can you live with shaving every Goddamn day for the rest of your career?

- Most importantly, are you willing to sacrifice your life?


I don't think many people really think about the last one much anymore.
