what are good apps to have on an iphone?
I probably shouldn't answer this since A) it's not my advice thread and B) I don't actually have an iPhone, but my friend told me about this app he got that makes his car horn honk. There's another one I thought that's equally useless and fun, but I can't think of what it is.

Ummm. . . maybe it's time for the Unkie Trunkie refresher course:

I have a Music degree. I'm not saying I'm better than you, but it does make my mind process music in a substantially different way than 70% of the population. That's the short first-half of the answer.

When getting said Music degree, I worked at the college radio station. I got exposed to a lot of good shit early and often. However, for every 1 album I loved, there were 20 pieces of shit.

Regrettably, whole genres were spawned from the 20 pieces of shit; Rap-Rock being the worst of the bunch. The Judgment Night Sound track gave birth to 10 lost years of good hard rock.

All that said, the last thing I heard from O.A.R. was their first album. I'm wondering when the F they ever went "Mainstream." I don't think I've ever heard them on Top40 radio. I've heard them on the Modern Schlock station, but not the Top40 station.

I was never that impressed. Them, 311, and a few other bands just never got strict song structure right, and that invariably pisses me off. I don't mind if you do that during a show, but when you make a recording, I need you to have a beginning, a middle, and an end.

There's that one app that reminds you you're a fashion whore siphoning off $75/mo. for voice and data fees.

I live 25 minutes from where I work (and that's allowing for traffic). The iPhone is a useless novelty item, AFAIC.

Get back to me in November, when I might need one.

Bubkes, but that could change too; I know a few game developers.

A deal on something you don't need is no deal at all.

I don't have a HDTV. I don't have a Blu-Ray player, I don't have surround sound, I don't have a gaming machine. I do have a used PS2 (paid nothing for it). . . I don't have an iPhone. I don't have a smart phone.

I do have a shit load of records, CDs, Cassettes, and even a few 8-tracks. I'm starting to get a collection of books too. . .

Brian,
I recently sold one of my Basses, a '91 Warwick Dolphin Wide 5 Neck Thru. Should I re-invest in another Bass, or buy something useful?
