Jed have you seen the hubbub over Micro$lofts possible implementation of RSS in the next version of IE? They want to make it "customized"

Hahaha! You waited almost two weeks to reply... what's your real name? George W Bush?

I didn't wait to reply so much as forget about this conversation entirely until someone else brought it to the front page with music player talk.

Your argument doesn't make sense. Not any.

MS built something evil but didn't use it (largely because of pressure not because they are kind).

Apple took that evil thing and may use it. If they do that makes them more evil than MS

It isn't who invents the evil thing but who uses it.

Your argument is frankly incoherent.
This has nothing to do with building tools or using them. I use a pen every day at work but that doesn't put me on the same level as a guy who stabs someone in the neck with one.

It isn't who invents the potentially evil tool. It isn't who uses the potentially evil tool. It's who uses the tool to actually do something evil.

Marrying software to hardware isn't evil. When they actually do something evil we'll talk.

I've thought about your argument WMM and here's the best example (from your's about Nazis) I can come up with.

Nazis invented sarin (the nerve agent) but never used it.
Iraq used sarin on the Kurds.

The nazis were (are) evil but the use of sarin was something they did not do even though they invented it. (It was used in Germany as a pesticide though)

The Iraqis didn't invent sarin but used it. That was very evil.

MS is horrible... anyone who's read my posts know I don't like them. I actually am a fan of Mac OS and hardware though I have said many times that I think their policy of keeping their architecture closed is foolish (and the reason for their fringe player status with 3% market share). I have a Mac and enjoy it. If Mac uses this isnidious technology to protect their crazy policy I will never buy anything Mac again.

I'd be surprised if even you or Mike would defend their use of this horrible MS technology.

This is sort of funny considering all the warfare and proposed warfare that is going on today because some nations are trying to develop nuclear capability. Shouldn't we wait until they actually use it to be pissed at them?
