I've thought about your argument WMM and here's the best example (from your's about Nazis) I can come up with.
Nazis invented sarin (the nerve agent) but never used it.
Iraq used sarin on the Kurds.
The nazis were (are) evil but the use of sarin was something they did not do even though they invented it. (It was used in Germany as a pesticide though)
The Iraqis didn't invent sarin but used it. That was very evil.
MS is horrible... anyone who's read my posts know I don't like them. I actually am a fan of Mac OS and hardware though I have said many times that I think their policy of keeping their architecture closed is foolish (and the reason for their fringe player status with 3% market share). I have a Mac and enjoy it. If Mac uses this isnidious technology to protect their crazy policy I will never buy anything Mac again.
I'd be surprised if even you or Mike would defend their use of this horrible MS technology.

If keeping the software married to the hardware keeps my computing experience on the level I have come to expect I guess I am defending that practice.
Would you buy an engine from one manufacturer and the rest of the car from another? ( a regular daily driven NON race car!) Who would assure it all works together?

It is a catch-22 the crazy policy and keeping it all in house is one of the reasons the interface is so elegant and just works! Sure it drives the price up. But I always equate Macs to a luxury car. Both a Kia and a BMW will get you from point A to B, but some of us choose to use BMW's as our computing platform of choice rather than a KIA.knowing full well we paid more than the guy next door stuck with a virus and malware and ****.

Don't you think the Mac OS is stable enough to run properly on a different platform? I do.
You Mac disciples crack me up sometime. Again, I like Macs. It's just goofy to have to buy the (very good) hardware at inflated prices to get the great OS. What's wrong with saying, 'I love the product but this is what's wrong with it.'

I was under the impression the original "evil" statement was incoherent and needed no response.
