No that's the original version... same as Lockheed prototype. The Harrier and the Boeing X35 prototype use redirected jet but that has the problems of having one major propulsion column (harder to balance) and also that the jet sometimes intakes hot air and loses lift.

The Lockheed design avoids both of those problems; however it adds a phenomenal amount of moving parts. The rotation of the jet drives (a driveshaft which drives) the fan. THink of the RPMs!!

It works however and can achieve VTO but it's considered to be a STO and VL jet. It even says so on wick's pics. Look at the tail.

No way I know as much about aircraft as you George, I just watched a 2 hour Nova on it.

That and I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express.
