Is Church considered a Cult???
You guys are so great for trying to answer this question.
OK, if I needle ya' a bit???....
So, James, if you can't confirm something or even truly understand it, does that mean it's not real? Anticipating your answer -- can you believe something is real by trusting other sources? This implies that there is a reality which goes beyond our own personal perceptions (tree falling in the forest), perhaps we can call it a collective perception. What do we do when the perception of different sources disagree?
Peter, I think that your definition is that reality is different for each individual. Beliefs definitely play a part in each person's perceptions. Is there some "objective" truth out there?
Thanks for playing, guys. I'm waxing philosophical this evening.

Charlie, I actually think you are confusing yourself with your question here and that you need to think it through a little more clearly ....

If you can't confirm something, or even truly understand it, does that mean it is not real?
No, definitley not, I cannot confirm nor do I understand the process of nuclear fission ..... I do however believe it to be a reality.

I believe that anyone who disagreed with this would be extremely arrogant indeed. Our personal perceptions are limited in the extreme. Even as a global population, combining the perceptions of each person into one collective perception would be limited in terms of universal reality, in my opinion (I know that some would disagree here).
what do we do when the perception of different sources disagree/
this is a very simple one to answer.... we argue!!!!

out for the evening and bid you g'night!
