My dad used to build hot-rods growing up and drag raced (amateur) in the philippines (so for bragging rights only). They would race each other for performance mods on their cars or money. He's done w/ that. Ever since the got the S2K and Viper he tries to do as many track events as time permits (not SCCA yet). He really wants to buy a Formula Mazda and just use that on the track.

All motor is fine but you might as well start w/ a motor that has alot of potential. That's usually going to be higher displacement engines (2.8L+).

Cool. That's why my dad bought the E55. He already has more than enough track cars; he wanted soething he could comfortably drive to the track and AT the track, and still be fast.

For me, I'm very practical and economic. I can't understand why some people will spend a butt-load of money initially on a car and then spend a butt-load more to make it go faster. I just believe in putting your money where it'll be the most useful for what you want.

I'm quite happy with the f20c. I figure I can make the same horsepower as a vette, I just have to spin twice as fast.....

Alex, then that's fine. Your dad obviously has the experience to know what he needs or wants out of a car (and how much he's willing to pay). I was only touting the Audi earlier cuz the MSRP on them was $86K+.
