Corona Virus ( not a joke )
Update please B
The airport is the petri dish, not the airplane. Airplanes constantly circulate fresh outside air that goes thru a HEPA filter before entering the cabin. It's not perfect, and if the person immediately in front of you is sick you'll probably find out, but if you wear a mask, wipe the touch surfaces down (tray and arm rests), you'd most likely be fine in a an airplane. And don't use the bathrooms in the back of the plane.
TSA had 120,000 people go thru yesterday; a normal Wednesday would have been more like 2.2 million. You'd have to look pretty hard to find a full flight. Many are going out with < 10% seats filled.

Well I certainly think you should know being an employee of the big B
& yeah certainly less I'd hope....
As for your Robb reply I like or don't like the you'd most likely be fine part

not worried since I have no plans as per usual to be on an airplane

I do think as for Mike its a lot of emotional effect right now being his elderly Mom alone

He needs to do what he needs to do & if that is fly to her then yeah he should
Yeah, I don't mean to be dismissive, and I don't think we are nearly ready to go back to "normal". The disease is worst when you're in a confined space with little to no air movement and/or unfiltered air for prolonged periods - offices, churches, movie theaters, factories/warehouses seem to be the main offenders for transmission. Airplanes at least have the air movement and filtration. But nothing is guaranteed. I'd put going on a flight now on par with going to Wal-Mart or Costco - acceptable risk to some, unacceptable risk to others.
As far as risk mitigation goes, I'd pay the extra $$$ to sit up front (air flows front to rear on airplanes), avoid Southwest (lack of control of seating means you're relying on other people to adhere to distancing), minimize time in the airport before hand, obviously wear a mask...

THANKS FOR THE INFO WEST SIDE BILLY
My Dad and my sister are planning a plane trip in the beginning of June I am going to pass this info. on to them. My Dad is 81 and has celiac disease and my sister has lyme so I'm not too thrilled about them going. My Dad said he could just as easily get hit by a beer truck to which I replied how many beer trucks do you have driving through your living room. My sister is tentative about going and assured me if it's not looking good they won't go.
