Corona Virus ( not a joke )
MI is still on lockdown, which I'm perfectly fine with. Masks are encouraged, though most people I see aren't wearing them. I haven't been inside a store (or anywhere else) since mid March, my wife has been doing all the shopping and she's been working from home since early March. I have been going to work everyday, but that's it, I'm either home or at work.
We had plans to go to Houston for Spring Break, but that got canceled. We're more than likely not going to do a summer camping trip this year, and instead we'll head to Houston for 2 weeks to see family, but that will only happen if things slow down a bit (virus wise) and places open back up with precautions on place.

MN is slower to reopen. Of course there are heavy concerns on how they choose what is going to open. Largest candy store in the state allowed to open because they are considered "grocery" while some other small retail shops with a fraction of the traffic are not allowed to open. Chiropractors allowed to provide massage therapy but massage salons not allowed to open, etc. So plenty of issues with people being angry over some of the choices. Overall though we are still on a stay at home order with some restrictions being lifted. Of course, data from other places and other countries is showing spikes in cases as they open up so there is that concern. Some of that is more testing, but it sounds like the increases in cases are overall much higher in areas that have tried to reopen so we shall see.
My job though will stay as is for now. Everyone but the hardware engineers that need the lab equipment to work from home, likely through the end of this year as it stands now. Most of us (program management, systems engineering, sales, office manager, firmware and software engineers) can work just the same from home as at the office. So that makes it easier for us for sure. Part of the benefit of my job is that I can take extended vacations and just work from the road as I need, so the remote work thing is nothing new for me. I feel horrible for the people who cannot work from home through this. Hard to find a good solution other than the govt printing new money to hand out stimulus packages ... which in the long term will cause more economic issues.
I hope they move away from this "essential business" BS and actually use sound logic on business re-opening. Obviously critical businesses will have to get a waiver from some rules but otherwise I think only allowing "Essential" businesses to reopen is just plain stupid. I would rather see more guidelines from states on the requirements to re-open and regardless of being deemed essential, if you can meet those requirements you can open. So rules around # of people per sq ft, ppe requirements, process changes to limit exposure, etc should be the defining part, not whether someone things a frickin golf course is essential but maybe a retail store is not. As I always state, let the experts and scientists do their jobs and keep the frickin elected people out of the way

We have it DOWN now too ( not difficult ) we have them leave the bags on the porch then when they leave we go get them bring to the CLEANING table in the garage , then transfer to the CLEANED table & bring in later ( only frozen gets put away directly & Perishable )
not that hard although I DO wonder how someday we'll look back on this task we've been doing
